💳 Alaska and Delta Deals, Singapore's May Escapes & More News and Deals from Sense per Point ✈️
Making Sense of Points & Miles :)
Still 100k: The Chase Sapphire Preferred® is still around with its 100k signup bonus, this time for spending $5k in the first 3 months. I do think this is THE deal in the points & miles world at the moment, so keeping it up for the time being!
Welcome Back!
Hope everyone is doing well 😊
Yes, South Korea was amazing, and even more so because points paid for my flights and hotel there! For reference:
I used 37k Virgin Atlantic miles (Transferable from Chase, Bilt, Amex, Citi and Capital One) to fly from JFK to ICN!
I used anywhere from 20-23k Hyatt points (Transferable from Chase) per night at the Grand Hyatt Seoul!
I did book the flight back home using cash as I thought that was a better deal at the time, but this stuff really makes the trip so nice! Complimentary breakfast and access to the sauna at the hotel is definitely a game-changer!
The goal with the newsletter is to help you all have your own nice travel experiences paid for with points, so hopefully I’ve been and am being helpful!!

✈️ Alaska and Delta Sales 💰️

We’ve got a couple of sales going on right now, so I’ll go through them all!
Starting with Delta: There’s a flash sale on routes to Australia, New Zealand and Taipei, ending today!

Sample costs from NYC for this deal! Other cities are available too 👍️
Do note these are roundtrip prices, but only basic economy and main cabin (economy) fares are available for this deal. Also note that if you have a Delta credit card, you get another 15% off of these rates! That cuts down the 44k fare for NYC-TPE, for example, to 37.4k points. For roundtrip, not too bad!
You can always check Delta’s usual award deals chart as well incase there are any deals you like on there!
Next, we’ve got Alaska, who is offering a sale, with flights starting at 4k miles each way, or $149 one-way. This also ends today, and discount-eligible fares should have the discounted price already showing!
You can get Alaska and Delta miles via Amex - Amex points transfer directly to Delta, and transfer to Alaska indirectly via Hawaiian first! 💳️
Do note that this is specifically for routes to and from Alaska, so this sale is a bit more targeted towards the West Coast flyers, as those routes are cheaper this time around due to closer proximity than the East Coast. But some good opportunities to go visit Alaska either way! Fun Fact: 7 out of the top 10 largest National Parks in the US by land area are located in Alaska 🏞️
Nothing crazily complicated here, just a couple of interesting deals to get to Alaska, Taipei, Australia, or New Zealand for cheaper than usual! Do note that both of the deals discussed end TODAY - but if these deals line up with your travel plans, why not take advantage?? 👍️
🏦➡️✈️ Transfer Bonuses
Bank | Transfer Partner | Bonus | This bonus ends: |
---|---|---|---|
Amex | Aeromexico Rewards | 20% (1:1.92) | April 30th, 2025 |
Amex | Etihad Guest | 20% (1:1.20) | April 30th, 2025 |
Chase | IHG One Rewards | 80% (1:1.80) | April 30th, 2025 |
🇸🇬 Singapore’s Back for May 🇸🇬
Singapore released this month’s Krisflyer Spontaneous Escapes! For those of you who aren’t familiar, Singapore releases discounted award flights in the form of Spontaneous Escapes on the 15th of every month. All deals released are 30% off 💰️
The details to keep note of are that:
You must complete your booking by April 31st 📆
Travel booked through this can take place between May 1st and May 31st, 2025 📆
Awards are non-refundable and non-changeable (so be careful)
This month’s discounted routes from the US are:

Economy and Business class deals!

Premium Economy deals!
This month, they’ve included the New York to Frankfurt route in business class! This route comes up in these deals periodically, so it’s nice to see this fifth-freedom route again 👍️
But yes, 56,700 Singapore miles will get you from New York (JFK) to Frankfurt in business! Or if you still want to go but don’t have the miles, 17,500 miles will do the same in economy. Remember that Amex, Capital One, Chase, and Citi points all transfer to Singapore at a 1:1 ratio! ✈️
If you are interested in going to Singapore or flying Singapore Airlines to Germany in May, do take advantage of these discounts, available till April 31st! And if not interested now but interested in the future, then keep an eye for these discounts on the 15th of every month!
Happy travels 😊
📰 Other Stories & Deals 💰️
👎️ Citi is lowering the Emirates transfer rate from 1:1 to 1:0.8 on July 27th…
🚕 Delta and Uber launched their partnership! Bye to the previous Delta and Lyft partnership!
🤝 Bilt seems to be adding JAL and Southwest as a 1:1 ratio transfer partner!
Bilt also added the ability to cash out points for student loans, at 1 cent per point 🤷
🗾 JetBlue miles can now be redeemed on JAL!
