Making Sense of Points & Miles :)
FYI: Sense per Point will be off next week (11/27) for Thanksgiving - Happy Turkey Day, and I will write to you all in 2 weeks!
Welcome Back!
Hope everyone is doing well 😊
My trip was incredible! Norway (Oslo & Tromsø) and Sweden (Stockholm) are absolutely wonderful places to visit, and I highly recommend it to all! My wallet still hurts though…
I went to like 4 different saunas, I fed reindeer (and I was also fed reindeer), I went cross country skiing, I saw some whales, I went to the Stockholm Film Festival, and I probably did a bunch of other things I can’t even remember right now! But it was all awesome, and the trip ended in style, as I flew business class home!!
Points were used for the following on my trip:
Finnair business class from ARN-HEL-JFK
Hotel Reisen, a Hyatt Hotel
Speaking of trips, here are some stories that hopefully inspire and help you to take one yourself! Lots of airlines running discounted award flights these days, which could be good value for a trip!

🇸🇬 Singapore Deals: November Edition 🇸🇬
Singapore released this month’s Krisflyer Spontaneous Escapes! As per usual, Singapore releases discounted award flights in the form of Spontaneous Escapes on the 15th of every month. All deals released are 30% off 💰️
The details to keep note of are that:
You must complete your booking by November 30th 📆
Travel booked through this can take place between December 1st and December 31st, 2025 📆
Awards are non-refundable and non-changeable (so be careful)
This month’s discounted routes from the US are:
Business from JFK to FRA (and vice versa) for 62.3k points each way
Or 19.25k in economy each way, or 39.9k in premium economy
Economy from LAX, SFO and SEA to SIN (and vice versa) for 30.8k points each way
Premium economy between Tokyo (NRT) and Los Angeles (LAX) for 56.35k points each way
Included in this month’s deals is the fifth freedom route between New York and Frankfurt! I’ve flown on this route in economy before, and will get to try it in business next month, which is exciting! Remember that Amex, Capital One, Chase, and Citi points all transfer to Singapore at a 1:1 ratio! ✈️
If you are interested in going to Singapore or flying Singapore Airlines to Germany in December, do take advantage of these discounts, available till November 30th! And if not interested now but interested in the future, then keep an eye for these discounts on the 15th of every month!
Happy travels 😊

🔺 Another Delta Flash Sale? 🔺

Book by today!
Yes, this ends today, so decide and act quick for some good deals flying Delta to Europe!
Delta has a flash sale going on (they have those from time to time), for flights to Europe from the US - they had routes to Australia and to Asia last time, so makes sense they are covering Europe too 🇪🇺
Do check the cash prices before this one, just to make sure you are getting good value - but I’m seeing New York to London for 24k miles + $210 roundtrip in Main Basic, and 30k miles + $210 roundtrip in Main Cabin (better than Main Basic). That 6k difference in miles gets you a checked bag, free seat assignments, etc. Worth it for some, but for others, that cheaper 24k could work.
That’s just one example of a deal I see, by the way! I know that on the right days, Virgin charges 6k plus taxes and fees each way to go to London from New York, so it may not be the cheapest on Delta with this deal, but there are other city pairings that could work (Munich, Paris, Milan, etc.)
Good to see so many deals coming through, and hoping for more 🧳
📰 Other Stories & Deals 💰️
✈️ You can get 12k Virgin miles for flying with Virgin Atlantic at least once for any 5 years!
👎️ TSA advised they may charge a $18 fee in the future for not having REAL ID or a Passport when flying…
😥 There are some reports that Chase has added lifetime language on the Ink Unlimited and Ink Cash…
🏨 Hilton did a refresh of their rewards program, and added a new Diamond Reserve Tier. Hilton Gold still gives you a breakfast credit though!
💳️ Best Card Signup Bonuses 💳️
Again, the usual solid cards:
Do search for public links for the above cards to compare signup bonuses to make sure you get the highest one (incognito mode, Resy, etc.).
For cards with elevated signup bonuses (targeted bonuses are not included), I’ve got:
Card | Bonus | Annual Fee | Why Consider? |
|---|---|---|---|
60k Virgin Points after $4k spend in 3 months | $99 | This is usually 40k points, so a higher bonus than usual! Solid “cancel in year 2” candidate here. | |
100k Citi ThankYou Points after $6k spend in 3 months | $595 | Not the best high annual fee card, but the points are worth churning I think! |
