💳 Flying Blue Has a Sale, Alaska and American Have One Too & More News and Deals from Sense per Point ✈️

Making Sense of Points & Miles :)

FYI: Sense per Point will be off next week (11/13) - I’ll be traveling and will report back on my trip in 2 weeks!

Welcome Back!

Hope everyone is doing well 😊

Unfortunately, is looks like aviation in the US is not doing too well…

There was a big crash in Louisville recently, and the government shutdown also seems to be slowing down airport operations for everyone. If you’ve got travel plans coming up, do get to the airport extra early - I know I will.

In fact, it seems it’s getting bad to the point that some airports will have 10% of their flights cut. Just an unfortunate situation for anyone affected 👎️

Well, for whenever these airport woes end, there’s a bunch of deals to go through today, so let’s dive into the stories!

In today’s edition:

✈️ 25% Off to Europe, November Edition 📆

Photo by Adam Khan on Unsplash

Yes, November is upon us, so as per usual, Flying Blue’s monthly Promo Rewards are here!

If you aren’t familiar with this deal: Flying Blue (mileage program of Air France and KLM) releases Flying Blue Promo Rewards, which are monthly promotions where routes between Europe and select destinations globally are offered for 25% off the original mileage price. Every month!

For this month, the North American cities selected for this discount are Chicago, Seattle, Orlando, Montreal, Austin, Las Vegas, New York, Atlanta, St Martin, Detroit, Ottawa, Toronto, and Washington D.C.! ✈️

Lots of US destinations included for this month, which should be great for anyone looking to do some winter season travel to Europe!

So without these promo rewards, economy flights from North America to Europe start at 25k miles each way + taxes & fees. With the 25% off from these deals, that now goes down to 18.75k miles each way (same taxes & fees).

Some routes in this deal are in business class, including Washington D.C., Toronto, and Ottawa, among others. Those business class deals start at 45k each way as well!

Remember, just because these deals come from Air France and KLM does not mean you have to go to France or the Netherlands! Their intra-European network is far and wide, and as long as your origin or destination is a city selected for this month’s discounts, you’ll get 25% off, no matter the European airport involved. 🇪🇺

Exciting stuff from Flying Blue for November - happy travels if you find and book something that works for you!

✈️ Alaska and American Sales 💸

Photo by Y S on Unsplash

Bunch of award sales this week! I’ll talk through Alaska first 👍️

We talk about Flying Blue’s Promo Rewards and Singapore Spontaneous Escapes on a monthly basis, but Alaska has a recurring reward flight discount too!

Alaska runs a quarterly award sale (a quarterly version of Flying Blue Promo Rewards and Singapore Spontaneous Escapes). Their Global Getaways is now up and running until April 31st, for flights through July 2025!

For this time around, the selected destinations are:

Some of these deals are quite solid, and these are deals for anywhere in the US to these destinations. So New York to Sydney or Auckland can cost 35k miles each way, which is quite reasonable. Do book by November 11, 2025 for travel through March 30, 2026!

The only thing about Global Getaways is that these deals are only for economy. Maybe one day, they’ll add some business routes 🤞

I’ll also note that Bilt is the only transfer partner that transfers to Alaska. You can go that route, or earn Alaska miles via their credit cards, etc. If you have Hawaiian miles, those transfer to Alaska at a 1:1 ratio, so that will work too!

On top of that, Alaska has another smaller sale where some domestic routes start for as low as 4k miles each way. These sales are a bit more frequent, and cash rates are also cheaper as part of this, with fare starting from $39. Routes to/from Hawaii start at 7.5k miles each way!

So quite the deal going on at Alaska!

And then American has a similar sale going on, where flights start from as low as 6k domestically, and 7.5k to Mexico and the Caribbean. Do book by November 16th for travel January 12-February 28, 2026:

  • Domestic from 6,000 miles

  • Mexico, Caribbean, & more from 7,500 miles

  • South America from 10,500 miles

  • Europe from 17,500 miles

  • Qatar, Australia, India, Japan, & more from 20,000 miles

Some great deals to be had here! It’s nice to see so many things pop up at once, and hope you can take advantage 👍️

  • ⌛️ Aeroplan points stopped expiring during the pandemic, but they will have expiration policies again - if you have any points that would expire after November 30th, 2026, those points will have firm expiration dates.

  • 🤝 United and Lyft announced a partnership, where you can link accounts and get United miles for Lyft rides!

  • ✈️ JetBlue is offering 20% base fares with promo code TAKE20 - book by today!

  • 📰 Some early details on new Bilt cards is out!

  • 🏨 Chase and Hyatt are expanding their partnership, with CSR holders getting Hyatt Explorist status next year, and a new Hyatt card coming!

💳️ Best Card Signup Bonuses 💳️

Again, the usual solid cards:

Do search for public links for the above cards to compare signup bonuses to make sure you get the highest one (incognito mode, Resy, etc.).

For cards with elevated signup bonuses (targeted bonuses are not included), I’ve got:
