💳 Signup Bonus Galore, How I Got to Singapore & More News and Deals from Sense per Point ✈️

Making Sense of Points & Miles :)

Welcome Back!

Hope everyone is having another great week 😊

I saw tons of sales and deals this week thanks to Prime Day - although I didn’t get anything from Amazon, something I appreciate about Prime Day is that it introduces sales and discounts on other sites too! Lots of discounts going around all over, and on top of that, there’s lots of cash back on Rakuten and more savings through Amex/Chase/Citi Offers to take advantage of 💸

Gotta save while I can and earn as much points where possible, so that I can spend more while traveling! 🧳

In today’s edition:

💳️ A Bunch of Bigger Bonuses 📈

Some targeted offers for a whopping 250k points!!

With the trips I took this summer, my points balance has inevitably gone down a bit…

But lots of cards are offering higher signup bonuses, so it turns out my points balance may be a signup bonus or two away from where it was before my trips! ✈️

Main highlights include:

Do note that some of these cards above are business cards, although I can clarify this again: You do not need an official business to have business credit cards! 👩‍💼

That being said, these cards are not for everyone, and these are subject to approval, so do apply for cards that make sense for you! These cards (not the Biz Plat) also do have downgrade paths, if you don’t want to pay the annual fees after the first year.

But these bonuses are pretty nice - with the 75k points for the Venture alone, you can fly Qsuites to Qatar, or Air France business class to Europe (among many other great things)! With 120k from the Ink or up to 250k from the Biz Plat, the options open up even more 😃

As for the IHG card offering free night certificates, those are good for rooms costing up to 60k points per night, meaning the signup bonus could potentially be up to 300k points. Those free night certificates could be used at some nice properties in the US, as well as abroad 🏨

Happy earning!

🇸🇬 Krisflyer Spontaneous Escapes 🇸🇬

You may know that I write about the Krisflyer Spontaneous Escapes in the Tips & Deals section every month when it comes out, but I thought I could highlight this in more detail, as I used this myself to get to Singapore!

So there are two monthly award flight discounts to look out for: Flying Blue Promos (Air France and KLM flights, 25% discounts release on the 1st of every month), and Singapore Krisflyer Spontaneous Escapes (Singapore Airlines flights, 30% discounts release on the 15th of every month) 💰️

The details to keep note of are that:

  • You must complete your booking by July 31st 📆

  • Travel can take place between August 1st and August 31st, 2024 📆

  • Awards are non-refundable and non-changeable (so be careful)

Without further ado, this month’s Singapore Airlines discounts in North America are:

Premium Economy deals for routes involving North America

Economy deals for routes involving North America

There are business class discounts periodically too, but unfortunately not this time around…

But there are still some great deals to be had! I used these discounts myself to fly nonstop from JFK to Singapore in premium economy, at that 56,350 price you see in the chart ✈️

And if you are wondering about the JFK-Frankfurt routes: Yes, Singapore operates a flight from New York to Frankfurt (see: Fifth Freedom Flights)!

Interested in going to Singapore or flying Singapore Airlines to Germany in August? Then take advantage of these discounts, available till July 31st!

And if not interested for August but interested in the future? Then keep an eye for these discounts on the 15th of every month! 👀

Happy travels 😊

  • 🚗 Did you know car rental companies also have award programs? Well, Hertz just devalued theirs…

  • 💳️ Amex just opened a Centurion Lounge at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) airport yesterday - let me know if you’d like me to review this lounge!

  • 💳️ Capital One has closed applications for the Savor Card - not the SavorOne, though, which I think is better anyway!
