Making Sense of Points & Miles :)
Hyatt Reminder: Hyatt’s award chart and category changes will go into effect in one week, on May 20th… Book before then to lock in current pricing!
Welcome Back!
Hope everyone is doing well 😊
I’ve gotten a few emails here and there from people telling me that the Transfer Partners sheet is not up to date. I worked on it yesterday and so should be updated! Very sorry it took some time to do that, I should’ve done it earlier…
That’s a reminder to me to thank you all for your readership and for using the sheet and the various things I share in the newsletter! This newsletter is not monetized and won’t be - I’m doing this for the love of the game (even if that game devalues its points and makes me sad sometimes) 🙂
With that, here are todays stories!
In today’s edition:
🏦 Transfer Bonuses ✈️
💳️ Best Card Signup Bonuses 💳️
💸 SAS and Turkish have Deals 💸

SAS doesn’t have any transfer partners, but just incase someone has these points!
A few discount deals for award flights to discuss!
It’s in the picture above, so I’ll start with SAS:
Save 25% when booking award flights with SAS EuroBonus miles
Book by May 17th, for travel through September 30th, 2026
Terms are pretty simple there - they devalued at some point last year, and the updated rates are listed out generously by the points & miles overlords at Frequent Miler! Even after the devaluations, the main highlight is 60k for business class from the US to Europe. 🇩🇰
With this sale, that would go down to 45k! 45k for transatlantic business class is pretty good! Even better is that children 2-11 pay half of that, so they’d be able to fly in business for 22.5k each way 🤯
Rove is the only transfer partner to SAS currently, as no major banks or Bilt have them. So if you’ve got a stash of SAS miles or have Rove miles ready, this could be (and maybe should be) on your radar! 🇸🇪
Okay, and now for Turkish:
Save 30% on select routes between the U.S./Mexico and Türkiye
Book by May 22nd for travel between October 1st and December 10th, 2026
Valid destinations include Atlanta, Boston, Denver, Detroit, Dallas, New York, Newark, Washington DC, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, Chicago, Seattle, San Francisco, Mexico City, and Cancun
Changes are only allowed for the same route (ie. you can’t change an Atlanta-Istanbul flight to Houston-Istanbul, etc.)
This applies on both one-ways and on roundtrips, and in either direction! Turkish award flights from North America to Türkiye cost 40k each way in economy normally, meaning with this offer those flights would be 28k each way. Also a decent offer for anyone looking to go to Türkiye! 🇹🇷
Good stuff to see from SAS and Turkish. Hope to see more of this from other airlines throughout the year!
🏦➡️✈️ Transfer Bonuses
A chart of transfer partners by bank, along with other information, can be found here! New transfer bonuses not present the week before are in bold. Two notes: 1) that any transfers to Avios essentially include British Airways, Iberia, Aer Lingus, Finnair, and Qatar, and 2) that if you have the Chase Aeroplan credit card, any Aeroplan transfer bonuses are 10% extra!
Bank | Transfer Partner | Bonus | This bonus ends: |
|---|---|---|---|
Chase | Marriott Bonvoy | 65% (1:1.65) | May 15th, 2026 |
Citi | Leading Hotels Of The World | 25% (1:0.25) | May 16th, 2026 |
Chase | Flying Blue | 20% (1:1.20) | May 27th, 2026 |
Amex | Hilton Honors | 20% (1:2.40) | May 30th, 2026 |
Capital One | Qantas | 20% (1:1.20) | May 31st, 2026 |
🇰🇷 Korean x Asiana: Next Steps 🇰🇷

I’ve written about this merger before, because it is particularly disastrous for my future travel plans, but there have been some new updates about the merger between Asiana and Korean Air.
Again, this merger concerns me (us) because:
Less competition on routes to and from Korea and the US means rising prices in the long run
One less airline flying between Korea and the US means less award inventory overall
Asiana will also eventually be gone from the Star Alliance, so any rewards programs in the Star Alliance would lose that inventory
So it is being reported that the two airlines will merge under the Korean Air brand on December 17th, 2026. I think that would mean that on that date:
Asiana flights will show as Korean Air flights instead
Asiana’s mileage program will be absorbed under Korean Air Skypass
That will be a sad day. I have many pleasant memories flying on Asiana, including my parent’s first ever business class flights, and multiple empty planes during the pandemic to run around in!
In any case, Air Premia is a low cost carrier operating some nonstop flights between Incheon and the US that is definitely worth looking at to get to South Korea, and when award inventory is there, Virgin Atlantic probably remains the best transfer partner to use for flights to South Korea with its access to Korean Air’s flights.
