Welcome Back!
Hope everyone is doing well 😊
This past weekend, I actively followed the Oscars for the first time! The low moment was when Kpop Demon Hunters wasn’t able to finish their speech and got played off, and the high moment was when Michael B. Jordan won!
I’m pretty deep into my movie hobby, as some of my readers may know, and it’s a bit like traveling, but just on a big screen instead of on a place. I’m transported to new worlds in either case, and learning and seeing new things in new ways!
But seeing new places with your own eyes is always preferable! That’s why this newsletter exists: To help you see those new places and to help you be transported to new worlds 🌍️
In today’s edition:

Chase Freedom categories for Q2!
With Q2 right around the corner, wanted to bring back this section on quarterly rotating categories. Just incase you are not familiar: cards with rotating categories give extra rewards for certain categories of card spend, like gas, flights, groceries, and more.
For Q2 2026, the categories are:
Card | Spend Categories | Rewards during Q3 |
|---|---|---|
Chase Freedom Flex (Chase Freedom too) | Amazon (includes Whole Foods), Chase Travel, Feeding America | 5x/5% back, up to $1500 in the quarter (7500 points total) |
Citi Dividend (no longer open to new applicants) | Grocery stores, Citi Travel | 5x/5% back, up to $6000 on all rotating category spend in the year |
Restaurants, Home Improvement stores | 5% back, up to $1500 in the quarter (7500 points total) |
1Let me know if I’ve missed any cards with rotating categories!
These rotating categories can be hit-or-miss, but for people who do spend money on these categories, this will really help you earn more rewards!
I want to highlight the Chase Travel category for the Chase Freedom Flex, because the card already has a bonus multiplier for it! So with Chase Travel being a 5x category for next quarter, that means for Q2 2026, you’ll earn 9x/9% back on dining purchases with the card (1x for all spend, 4x for the bonus Chase Travel category, 4x for the quarterly bonus category for 9x total)!! 9 points per dollar is pretty good, and I haven’t even mentioned that Amazon and Whole Foods is included, which is a big category for many 🥳
With the Feeding America category, I imagine it would be possible to make a donation via credit card, earn 5x points, and then get a tax deduction from them for your tax returns? 🤷
The Discover card also getting restaurants is big - 5x on dining is very good! The Citi Dividend then also has groceries as a category, which is always welcome!
As always, happy earning 💸
