Making Sense of Points & Miles :)
AA Barclays → Citi: If you have an American Airlines credit card through Barclays, it will transition to a Citi card on 4/24/2026. Just a heads up, in case you’d like to cancel before, etc.
Welcome Back!
Hope everyone is doing well 😊
This weekend is Super Bowl weekend! While I don’t really follow the NFL all that much, its time for some chicken wings during the game, and that’s where my excitement is at!!
I may have written about this last time, but I believe the day after the Super Bowl is one of the most PTO-taken days of the year. What if they just scheduled this so that the next day is President’s Day and it’s already a holiday so people just have off? Just a thought 🤷
Anyways, we’ve got a few deals to talk through today, so let’s get into it!
In today’s edition:
✈️ 25% Off to Europe, February Edition 📆
It’s the first newsletter of February, so as per usual, Flying Blue’s monthly Promo Rewards are back!
If you are not familiar: Flying Blue (mileage program of Air France and KLM) releases Flying Blue Promo Rewards, which are monthly promotions where routes between Europe and select destinations globally are offered for 25% off the original mileage price. Every month!
For this month, the US cities selected for this discount are Phoenix, Dallas, San Francisco, Boston, New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Las Vegas, and Washington D.C.! ✈️

They’ve got deals across the globe for this month, with business class deals from Europe to Africa as well as Central and South America! Lots of exciting flight routes in the offers for the month!
So without these promo rewards, economy flights from North America to Europe start at 25k miles each way + taxes & fees. With the 25% off from these deals, that now goes down to 18.75k miles each way (same taxes & fees). I’ve used these deals to travel to Europe and back before too! Business class deals start at 45k each way as well!
Remember, just because these deals come from Air France and KLM does not mean you have to go to France or the Netherlands! Their intra-European network is far and wide, and as long as your origin or destination is a city selected for this month’s discounts, you’ll get 25% off, no matter the European airport involved. 🇪🇺
This also comes at a time when the Air France-KLM World Elite Mastercard has an elevated bonus of 70k miles and 100 XP (60 on approval, 40 after hitting minimum spend) after spending $3k in 3 months. The card also gives you 5k points if you spend $50 on it in a year, which definitely helps to offset the $89 annual fee! XP, by the way, are points to get Flying Blue status, and 100 XP immediately gets you Flying Blue Silver status. Worth a look if you have a use for the miles or the XP for Flying Blue status 💳️
Exciting stuff from Flying Blue for February - happy travels if you find and book something that works for you!
🏦➡️✈️ Transfer Bonuses
A chart of transfer partners by bank, along with other information, can be found here! New transfer bonuses not present the week before are in bold.

|---|---|---|---|
Capital One | Avianca Lifemiles | 15% (1:1.15) | February 11th, 2026 |
Capital One | Japan Airlines Mileage Bank | 30% (1:1.95) | February 28th, 2026 |
Chase | Marriott Bonvoy | 50% (1:1.50) | February 28th, 2026 |
🔺 Delta Flash Sale is Back 🔺

Book by today!
Delta is back again with a flash sale, for flights to Africa Europe from the US - Yes, this ends today, so decide and act quick!
Do check the cash prices before this one, just to make sure you are getting good value - but I’m seeing New York to Madrid for 26k miles + $60 roundtrip in Main Basic, and 26k miles + $48 roundtrip to Dublin. There are some more domestic routes and routes to Europe as well, but the only Africa route I currently see is New York to Marrakech, Morocco for 56k miles + $56 roundtrip in Main basic. There’s probably other deals from other cities in the US as well!
Do note there’s some Main Basic deals and there’s some Delta Main deals - Delta Main gets you a few more things on the flight (bags, seat selection, etc.). If you have a Delta credit card, you get another 15% off of these rates via the TakeOff 15 benefit!
Good to see so many deals coming through, and hoping for more 🧳

💳️ Best Card Signup Bonuses 💳️
Again, the usual solid cards:
Do search for public links for the above cards to compare signup bonuses to make sure you get the highest one (incognito mode, Resy, etc.).
For cards with elevated signup bonuses (targeted bonuses are not included), I’ve got:
Card | Bonus | Annual Fee | Why Consider? |
|---|---|---|---|
60k Virgin Points after $4k spend in 3 months | $99 | This is usually 40k points, so a higher bonus than usual! Solid “cancel in year 2” candidate here. | |
100k Citi ThankYou Points after $6k spend in 3 months | $595 | Not the best high annual fee card, but the points are worth churning I think! | |
100k Qatar Avios after $6k spend in 3 months | $499 | An elevated bonus for a card that comes with Oneworld Sapphire status! | |
70k Flying Blue miles + 100XP after $3k spend in 3 months | $89 | A solid signup bonus, and enough XP earned for Flying Blue Silver status! | |
75k points + $250 in travel credits after $4k spend in the first 3 months | $95 | That nice bonus is back! |
