💳 New Year New Flying Blue, 2026 Predictions & More News and Deals from Sense per Point ✈️

Making Sense of Points & Miles :)

Happy New Year: Hope everyone’s 2026 will be a good one! Thank you so much for reading and supporting in 2025, and thank you in advance for hopefully more of the same in 2026 ❤️

Welcome Back!

Hope everyone is doing well 😊

2025 ended on a fun note for me personally, as I spent it in Vienna! Such a wonderful trip, with lots of good food, amazing art, and some lovely uses of points, like:

A wonderful trip! I went to the hotel sauna so many times 🧖‍♂️

As I wish for every reader to have their own travels and fun in 2026, let’s get into the stories that hopefully will help make that a reality!

In today’s edition:

✈️ 25% Off to Europe, January Edition 📆

New year, new month! As per usual, Flying Blue’s monthly Promo Rewards are here 👍️

If you aren’t familiar with this deal: Flying Blue (mileage program of Air France and KLM) releases Flying Blue Promo Rewards, which are monthly promotions where routes between Europe and select destinations globally are offered for 25% off the original mileage price. Every month!

For this month, the U.S. cities selected for this discount are New York, Houston, Las Vegas, Washington, Atlanta, Chicago, Seattle, Miami and Orlando! ✈️

January’s destinations!

Lots of US destinations included for this month, which should be great for anyone looking to do some travel to Europe! You can actually book in January for travel through June, so plenty of opportunities to book travel in the first half of the year here 🧳

So without these promo rewards, economy flights from North America to Europe start at 25k miles each way + taxes & fees. With the 25% off from these deals, that now goes down to 18.75k miles each way (same taxes & fees).

Some routes in this deal are in business class, including Orlando and Miami, among other cities across the globe. Those business class deals start at 45k each way as well!

Remember, just because these deals come from Air France and KLM does not mean you have to go to France or the Netherlands! Their intra-European network is far and wide, and as long as your origin or destination is a city selected for this month’s discounts, you’ll get 25% off, no matter the European airport involved. 🇪🇺

Exciting stuff from Flying Blue for January - happy travels if you find and book something that works for you!

🔮 Predictions for 2026 🔮

2025 was quite the year in the points & miles space - yes, there were many devaluations and negative changes as per usual, but you had things like Citi gaining American as a transfer partner, the Amex Platinum refresh actually being pretty good, and more!

2026 is sure to deliver some more, good or bad or surprising. I don’t know what will happen this year, but I tried to make some early predictions for this upcoming year!

A tic-tac-toe (3×3 bingo) chart of my predictions

I tried to not make my predictions too basic - I couldn’t say “an airline devalues”, because that’s almost too inevitable, so I predicted that American specifically will do that. I really hope not 🤞

Any bad prediction, I hope doesn’t happen, and any good prediction, I hope happens! I also hope any surprises that materialize this year are good surprises!

I will say though, that even though Global Entry raised its fees to $120, I think more changes could potentially be on the way - the current administration has just been doing whatever it wants to, in a way that I really do think they’d just wake up one day and make some change to the program if they wanted to. The counterargument is that they are too busy with other things to even be thinking about TSA Precheck. Obviously, I hope they don’t make any negative changes!

If you have any personal predictions, or just want to hate on mine, let me know. Hoping 2026 is a good year for points & miles 🙏

💳️ Best Card Signup Bonuses 💳️

Again, the usual solid cards:

Do search for public links for the above cards to compare signup bonuses to make sure you get the highest one (incognito mode, Resy, etc.).

For cards with elevated signup bonuses (targeted bonuses are not included), I’ve got:

Card

Bonus

Annual Fee

Why Consider?

Synchrony Virgin Red

60k Virgin Points after $4k spend in 3 months

$99

This is usually 40k points, so a higher bonus than usual! Solid “cancel in year 2” candidate here.

Citi Strata Elite℠ Card

100k Citi ThankYou Points after $6k spend in 3 months

$595

Not the best high annual fee card, but the points are worth churning I think!

Qatar Airways Privilege Club Infinite Credit Card

100k Qatar Avios after $6k spend in 3 months

$499

An elevated bonus for a card that comes with Oneworld Sapphire status!
